About Kenwood
Kenwood is an exclusive neighborhood tucked away in the western portion of Minneapolis.  The northern tip of Kenwood abuts the Cedar Lake Trail while the souther nborder rests on Kenilworth Channel.  The western border is Cedar Lake while the eastern border rests on the shores of Lake of the Isles.

One advantage of living in Kenwood is the prestigious location and close proximity to the Minneapolis Uptown and Downtown areas.  Easy access to many cultural and recreational acitivities make Kenwood a popular place to call home.


Things to do in and around Kenwood

Minneapolis has several popular annual events which include the City of Lakes Loppet, Heart of the Beast Theatre May Day Parade, Art-A-Whirl, Minneapolis Aquatennial, Minnesota Fringe Festival, Uptown Metris Art Fair, Powderhorn Festival of Arts, Twin Cities Marathon, and Holidazzle Parade.

One of the benefits of living in Kenwood is the close proximity to “The Chain of Lakes”.  Each lake has its own unique variety of amenities.  The lakes are linked by the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway.

Lake of the Isles

Kenilworth Trail – borders the Kenwood neighborhood with wooded areas, restored prairies and recreational trails.

Cedar Lake Trail
Is a popular recreational trail designed for pedestrians, bicyclists, and skaters, and is a convenient non-motorized path to downtown Minneapolis.

Biking in Kenwood
Biking is a very popular activity in Kenwood and throughout Minneapolis.  In fact, there are 34 miles of streets in Minneapolis with dedicated bike lanes and over 56 miles of off-street trails.  There are an estimated 10,000 cyclists in the city each day, and an estimated 2 to 3 % of people in the city commute to work by bicycle.  Three popular trails in the city are the Midtown Greenway, Cedar Lake Trail and Kenilworth Trail.  Minneapolis even has a guaranteed ride home program for those who bike to work or school 3 days or more per week.  If you are stranded, have a flat tire, or other type of emergency, the city may comp you for free transit or cab fare.   Minneapolis also makes sure that all metro-transit buses and trains have bike racks, and the city also provides bike lockers in many locations.


Skiing and Snow Tubing
Minneapolis grooms four of its golf courses for cross country skiing in the winter.  These golf courses include Columbia, Gross, Hiawatha, and Theo Wirth.  Make sure to get a ski pass.

Skate Parks
Skating is all the rage today with the kids.  Minneapolis boasts 6 tier 1 skate parks located at Armitage, Bottineu, Bracket, Creekview, Elliott, and Morris Park.  Complete with ramps and rails made of high grade weather resistance materials, these parks are all the rage.  These parks are open to skateboarders, in-line skaters, and BMX bike riders.
